Documents and shipments
What documents do I need to provide for a shipment within Europe?
For most European shipments, an order via EDI, customer portal or email is
is sufficient. Claassen Logistics then prepares the waybill itself. Some countries may require additional documents, such as an export document.
Can I also ship pallets to Great Britain or other non-EU countries?
Yes. Claassen Logistics also handles export shipments to countries outside the EU, such as the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland. These shipments usually require additional customs documents. We provide full support in this regard.
Transport and delivery
What delivery conditions does Claassen Logistics apply?
For export shipments by road, we generally work with the Incoterm DAP (Delivered
At Place). This means that we deliver the shipment to the agreed address, but that
import duties and VAT are for the account of the recipient. Other incoterms are also
possible in consultation, usually this requires a bit more organization in advance.
Can I schedule a delivery at a specific time?
In many cases it is possible, depending on the country and route. Please contact us
for options around time slots or appointment deliveries.
Do you also deliver in cities with environmental zones or driving bans?
Yes, Claassen Logistics takes into account environmental zones, driving bans and access restrictions in cities. We ensure that our vehicles meet local requirements or seek alternatives such as transshipment through a local depot.
Planning and lead time
On average, how long does a shipment to a foreign country take?
The duration depends on the destination. You can request a detailed overview from your contact person or go to international transport for average transit times per country.
What happens if a holiday falls in the destination country?
Holidays can affect delivery times. Our planning takes this into account and informs you if a shipment is delayed due to a holiday or driving ban.
Contact and service
